Starry, Starry DepEd Night

BALANGA CITY, BATAAN – DepEd Balanga City in collaboration with Balanga City Public School Teachers and Employees Association (BCPSTEA) and the City Government held the 2013 DepEd Night on December 19, 2013 at Plaza Mayor de Balanga.

The said event showcased the following presentations: Shadow Puppetry-Regional Champion (Bataan National High School), Street Dancing-Regional First Runner-Up (Bataan National High School), Sabayang Pagbigkas-Division Champion (M. Delos Reyes Memorial Elementary School) and awarding of Plaques of Recognition to the different academic departments of Bataan Peninsula State University for attaining the Level ll Accreditation.

The public display of the outcome of the Division Search for Miss DepEd-Balanga 2013 and coronation of the winners were the highlights of this activity. BCPSTEA headed by Mrs. Anna Maria I. Garcia organized this search upon the approval of Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon, Schools Division Superintendent, Officer-in-Charge.

The top ten winners in The Division Search for Miss DepEd-Balanga 2013 are as follows:

Rhoda D. De Silva (City of Balanga National High School) 1^st Runner-up

Catherine D. Ambrocio (Balanga Elementary School) 2^nd Runner-up

Analiza R. Quicho (Bo. Central Elem. School) 3^rd Runner-up

Ma. Rosario P. Cubales (Cataning Elem. School) 4^th Runner-up

Karen D. Pingol (Cupang Elem. School) 5^th Runner-up

Edelyn T. Manalaysay (Tenejero Elem. School) 6^th Runner-up

Angela M. Espiritu (M. Delos Reyes Memorial Elem. School) 7^th Runner-up

Aiza Z. Gamiao (Cabog-Cabog Elem. School) 8^th Runner-up

Kristine M. Seril (T. Camacho Elem. School) 9^th Runner-up

Other candidates namely; Mrs. Jonalyn Tancio (Bagong Silang Elem. School), Miss Shryll Ann Y. Lacsamana (Tuyo Elem. School), Mrs. Allen Jane P. Macalinao (Tortugas Elem. School), Miss Edelyn Destura (Tanato Elem. School) and Miss Coleen N. Navales (Pto. Rivas Elem. School) also joined the coronation.

These teachers truly amazed the crowd as they romped and pomped upstage wearing their resplendent and fabulous black or red evening gowns and elegant formal attires. Due to their splendid performance that night they resembled the shining stars which gave radiance to the schools they were representing. Just like other beauty contests these beauties were serenaded. Mr. Ace Espinosa and Mr. Rhon Caimbon rendered romantic ballads which inspired them and the audience as well..

Crowned that night were Miss DepEd-Balanga 2013, Miss Blesilda C. Tigas and the First Runner-up to Fourth Runner-up. Miss Tigas was also crowned as Miss Photogenic together with Miss Catherine Ambrocio. Miss Edelyn Manalaysay garnered the Best in Formal Wear while Miss Angela Espiritu’s float was declared the best.

City Administrator, Mr. Rodolfo H. De Mesa, District ALS Coordinator of Abucay Mr. Ariel Cañete and City Tourism Head, Miss Lolet Del Rosario fairly judged the Best in Formal Wear and the Best Float while Mr. Ronaldo Garcia, renowned photographer, and fellow photographers chose Misses Photogenic.

Adding glitter to the affair was the presence of City Mayor Honorable Joet S. Garcia and Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon.

DepEd Night was indeed a glittering success which can be attributed to being a starry activity. And the true stars who illuminated the night were the following BCPSTEA officers: President – Mrs. Ana I. Garcia, Vice-President – Mr. Rodelio P. Bugay, Secretary – Mrs. Marlyn B. Gerio, Treasurer – Mrs. Brenda B. Gaddi, Auditor – Miss Cherrylyn S. Roque and PRO – Mr. Dodgee Española. Other luminaries of this noble undertaking were Miss Yolanda V. Pruna – EPS 1 – Araling Panlipunan/in-charged of the Division’s Special Events and Mr. Jonathan B. Baldeo, a teacher from Bataan National High School, who served as Master of Ceremony with Mrs. Marlyn B. Gerio.
