Our national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal once said that, “ The youth is the hope of the fatherland.” It was a well-meant declaration and defined in the hallmark of nationalistic purpose.

Amidst the social injustice and oppression during his time, Rizal foresaw the bright vision from a distant perspective, a hope which every Filipino can steadfastly cling to, a better country free of tyranny.

In depth it is a future lying in the hands of the new breed of Filipinos, a well spring of hope bannered by the youth. Hope in the youth cannot necessarily hold its own without being rooted in a sturdy foundation. The young minds deserve to be equipped with a mould that even poverty will not erode, the needed provision of a formal developmental education.

For almost 120 years after the great man’s martyrdom, the glimpse of reality glitters on, every generation of man needs to be educated.

As shown with Rizal’s mastery and expertise in the fields of arts, science, sports, medicine, to mention a few; it redounds to the thirst for learning not only for self satisfaction but the patriotic insight of a man in the service of his own countrymen and homeland.

The ember of hope remains to be progressive challenge to every youthful generation of this nation. It is rare to be in the pedestal of Jose Rizal, but it is in believing that everyone has the opportunity to be educated, the youth as hope of the fatherland the ember still holds its flame.
