Five participants from the Division of Balanga City attended the 3rd National ICTs Basic Education Congress in Waterfront Hotel, Lahug Cebu City last September 10-11, 2008 headed by Dr. Lilia M. Santiago, Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Simeona B. Emata, Principal BNHS, Dr. Alma V. Poblete, Principal I of Cabog-Cabog E/S, Dr. Merly Dominguez, SSHT III, and Jennifer G. De Guzman Principal I / Division ICT Coordinator.
The two-day event provide a forum for stakeholders to exchange views, examine critical issues and share good practices in designing, initiating, managing and sustaining ICT – based innovations within the framework of providing quality basic education for all. It also showcases existing local and international good practices in ICT and curriculum integration and encourages dialogue on the curricular and pedagogical issues that underpin computer and Web-enabled initiatives towards educational transformations.
Sec. Jesli A. Lapus and Asst. Sec. Jesus L.R. Mateo from the Department of Education, Dr. Philip Wong, Associate Prof. National Institute of Education, Singapore are the first session facilitators. While Jan Herrington, Associate Prof. University of Wollongong, Australia; Patricia B. Arinto, Associate Professor UPOU; Nemah N. Hermosa, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs UPOU are the second session speakers in the 3rd National ICT Basic Education Congress.
