The DepEd - Balanga City conducts National Schools Maintenance Week from June 2 – 7, 2008 which engages stakeholders such as the School Officials, PTCA, Local Government Officials, NGOs, GO’s and private sectors.

This annual DepEd program aims to improve surroundings and school premises in preparation of public schools mainly for the opening of classes.

It is a week long activity where stakeholders and private individuals contribute their time, effort and skills to do minor to medium repairs and maintenance work in the schools.

Sec. Jesli A. Lapus said "It takes a community to educate a child and this is precisely the point of Brigada Eskwela, the voluntary participation of the community stakeholders for a better learning environment for our students."

The significance of Brigada Eskwela is in how well we can teach our children the essence of community and of humanity towards the SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE.
