Death is certain and relational

The social media account updates us of the latest names of people who succumb to COVID and later, die. The sting of death seems so ferocious. It is real though it is more of a surreal. This pandemic really draws us closer to God because of life’s uncertainties. You can really never say until when is our journey on Earth. People seem to die one after another. The virus can get a number of our relatives and friends and it pains us so much to know it.
Prayer is the best antidote to combat stress and fear. Our worship and thanksgiving to the One who controls everything can ease our tired muscles and aching heart. Our belief can infuse optimism beyond our strength. Our fortitude can accept the harshest fact that we can get from our situation. We may lack the drive to carry on but there is this inner peace that breathe afresh our mobility. Certainly, life must go on. Our courage can face death with confidence and complete surrender.
We are mortal. The moment we are born, God already scheduled our death which is unknown to us. No one knows the “WHEN” and “HOW” of death. You cannot foretell the date of one’s death and in what manner will we die. While we are still here on earth, let us live our life to the fullest.
How can we live our life to the fullest? Let us seek to be a blessing with others. Do not allow ourselves to wallow in wrong values, habits, and people. This life is meant to be shared with the right people especially those who most need our attention and care. Sharing our blessings can actually prolong our sojourn in this world of lies and cheats. Our optimism is a blessing that may be needed by the people who are experiencing the harshest realities of life. Life is really hard and it is hardest if this will not be shared and lived with the right people. Our life will never be in vain if we live it well. When the time comes that we do have to leave our physical body, we are certain that our spirit will have its everlasting journey in the paradise that God prepares for us and our crowns are beautiful because they are the fruits of our sacrifices for others.
Let us die in our animalistic tendencies and selfish desires and live generously with others. Dying for others is such a heroic deed and just like Christ, who died so that we may have lives. We will only pass this world once and our experiences and interactions with the other people will determine our eternal happiness.
