K to 12: Going Stronger on its Second Year

The Division of City of Balanga will start the second year implementation of K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum this June. In line with this, the Division Mass Training for Grade 2 Teachers is being held at Balanga Elementary School AVR this May 6-10, 2013. The training is attended by fifty-five(55) public elementary school teachers and thirteen(13) teachers from the private schools of the city.
The training date was initiated by Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon, Officer-in-Charge, Schools Division Superintendent, so as to give ample time for teachers to prepare for said curriculum. The training team who were sent to attend the National Training of Trainers for Grade 2 K to 12 on April 23 to May 30, 2013 at Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City eagerly prepared for said Division Training. Likewise, materials for the teachers’ guide and learners were reproduced in advance for the participants to have a walk through and preparation for the coming SY 2013-2014.
Through the able presentations of the training team namely: Dr. Merlinda T. Tablan, PSDS, matters on MTB-MLE and English were discussed; Dr. Corazon Lopez, EPS-1 Filipino dealt with Development of 2nd Language (Filipino); Dr. Merlinda Dominguez, Dept. Head, shared the Mathematics topics; Miss Lorna V. Guinto, EPS-1 Values was tasked to deliver Music and Art and her Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao area; and Miss Yolanda Pruna, EPS-1 talked about Araling Panlipunan, P.E. and Health.
Participants found the training highly beneficial and worth attending for the future success of the K to 12 Curriculum as found in their daily reflections.
