Time on task is the by word now a days by schools administrators; meaning teachers are required to maximize their time on teaching and learning activities. To talk about quality education we are embarking on a broader sense and become more realistic. The new curriculum slated for 12 years of schooling for the elementary and secondary level which we termed as basic education is expected to upgrading quality education. As expected all school ages should have an access to the basic education targets.

The access to education is parallel to quality teaching to be received by our students. It is a must that all school-age children are mandated to be in school to receive basic education. We should also consider one aspect of learning that is the teacher-pupil ratio; text books and school facilities that will groom the learning concept.

Look into the school administrators who will man the schools. How technically-qualified are they? by seniority maybe or by their ability? How about their trainings, their expertise?Do they need more training programs to capacitate them?

Yes, teachers have undergone some re-trainings, seminars to enhance their capabilities in handling their classes so that we will be on the right track in achieving quality education for our students. We are now on the last ladder added to the secondary curriculum. We will wait and see and how we can achieve the national goals. This is now the curriculum preparing our students to become responsible constituents or leaders of our community which envision prosperity. Our educational system plays a very important for the future of our nation in achieving the quality education of our youth.

School administrators and teachers role is not control oriented but rather to encourage, support and to give them room for creativity, flexibility and their own initiative that will mould our youth successfully. Moreover to empower our mentors to use their time productively and to continue to be innovative so that teachers are empowered to lead the youth to the next centuries.
