In education one of the struggles is to teach each student to endure. Often times the words that we hear inside the classroom is to never give up and to remain firm in the middle of difficulties. Success is sweeter when we surpass it gracefully and with a smile. In schools students are being trained to remain steadfast and immovable through enduring. Endurance for each student may come in different faces. Others endure through families and friends and some through intrinsic motivation but in the end it all comes down for the best interest of an individual.
In my class I share thoughts and experiences of the importance of enduring which is a prerequisite to success. I am amazed how bearing one’s testimony of the necessity of enduring transforms a student from uninspired to a motivated individual. Although the process is gradual it is glorious in a teacher’s sight to see that it helps when we share experiences about enduring and how it is imperative to success.
Students need the proper guidance and constant reminder of the right choices. In some cases through experiences and home visitations there is a reason behind every student’s actions and behavior. As we dig deeper to the root cause then proper intervention can be given. Making them realize the importance of education and endurance through valuing is easier.
The norm in the society about education is somehow affected by variety of things. When we teach each student the true definition of enduring it would mean a lot of things and will contribute to something bigger not just today but definitely tomorrow. Looking back to different stories of teachers who chose the less traveled path for their students it is vivid that every teacher can be the same if the objectives of each teacher is properly aligned in helping, leading, guiding and sometimes walking with students.
Never give up and never take turns, keep walking until finally we are close to our destination and see that we are already there. It doesn’t matter if schooling is difficult or full of requirements including our own personal issues outside our school because life really is at times complicated but what matter is when we endure to end because if we do then nothing can stop us from going up the ladder.
