Terror. Quite. Strict.

Three words on how a typical student describes the manager of the whole institution—school. Filipinos give a frightful image on school principals. But why are students in the Philippines afraid when the term "principal" is being told by the teachers or classmates?

As far as you know, school principals have an arduous role to play in school. A teacher may carry responsibilities of a classroom but a principal hauls many obligations of the entire school. We, students, cannot monitor all of their labors for the school but they really have a lot of stuffs and works to accomplish. They are the ones who control the learning system to provide higher quality education. They are the minds. They do plan the activities, programs, seminars, and lessons for the entire school year. Imagine how they carry on despite their personal matters like their obligations to their families and multiple errand. Imagine how they regulate a smooth education for us. They even went outside the school to gather more knowledge in seminars. Principals have to be flexible in their jobs. Students, teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, school nurses, and school facilitators are like the parts of a machine. School principal is the oil. Without the oil, a machine won't start up, it won't work.

From this day on, let us value and respect their role in our schools. They are our essentials, without them, our institutions will not be productive to suffice our educational needs. They are the heads that monitor everyone inside the school. Without them; no one will guide, no one will give order, no one will rule, and no one will manage.

Being a school principal is not a job, it is passion.

Indeed, a school principal may handle thousands of works but trust them because they only hold one goal— our education.

Workaholic. Brave. Caring.

These should be the new words to keep in our minds. Let us change their image into an attractive reflection through respecting their works in empowering our future. Remember that we owe a lot on them. They serve not for the salary, they really serve for us.

Behind our successes, achievements, knowledge, and learnings are teachers. But behind the teacher's commitment, passion, and loyalty is a mastermind— a school principal.
