When we talk of global competitiveness of our youth, suggested by educators and businessmen, our education should be integrated in the ASEAN. This simply means that our level of competencies in the basic education must empower our youth to be knowledgeable, skills-oriented, functional, and technologically-adept.

To be functionally-literate, we mean that the youth has a range of skills, competencies be it cognitive, affective and behavioral as well. By these the youth may be able to realize that he is human who needs to be environmental-friendly, critical and analytical in his decisions to be adaptive of the fast changing condition of our society.

He should be operationally able to use communication skills effectively. He must express his ideas orally and in writing. In his work, he should respond to ideas presented and be able to access, process and utilize available basic and multimedia information. Integration with ASEAN nations’ educational capabilities will improve knowledge in numeracy, gain knowledge to be innovative with scientific thinking. This will also make him use the sustainable resources and be productive individual and become a promising and responsible entrepreneur. He can also realize his self-awareness, self-discipline, responsibility and self-realization and be able to accept and respect diversity with appreciation to peaceful resolution of conflicts.

ASEAN integration should bring to the youth global awareness, global interdependence and solidarity. As we put ourselves to ASEAN school level will surely need to learn much of communication skill for we will deal to turn out our students to be working with international managers.

Looking into our curriculum at this moment, we may have addressed the curriculum problems in the past. As we geared towards curriculum enhancement to be able to integrate ours to the ASEAN nations. Our educational system should not control but rather to encourage support to do its best for creativity, trust them that they can use their time productively, and may be this can empower the teachers to lead our children to the next century work force.
