DepEd Balanga City Regains RSPC Luster

DepEd Balanga City bagged minor and major awards from the 2013 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) which was held at Fontana, Clark, Freeport Zone, Angeles City, thereby regaining its luster in this Campus Journalism activity.

The elementary Campus Journalists who garnered awards were as follows: Christian Paul G. Atuan (Bagong Silang ES) – 1st place in Photojournalism (English), Chiles T. Camacho (Balanga ES) –2nd place in Newswriting (Filipino), Justine Raine V. David (Balanga ES) -3rd place in Copyreading and Headline Writing (Filipino), Angelica Fe P. Cabanag (Balanga ES) and Paul Daniel D. Palad (Balanga ES) – 5th place in Newswriting (English) and Editorial Writing (English), respectively, Crystal C. Nisay (Cupang ES) – 8th place in Newswriting (English), Isabelle Frances P. Salazar (St. Joseph’s College of Balanga) – 9th place in Feature Writing English and Christian Johann A. Labrador (Cupang ES) and Joshua Miguel R. Masangcap (St. Joseph’s College of Balanga) – 10th place in Editorial Writing (Filipino) and Science & Health Writing (English), respectively.

The Radio Scriptwriters & Broadcasters (Filipino) from Tenejero Elementary School who grabbed the 5th place (over-all) award are the following: Maicho A. Cuaresma, Hannah M. Castro, Kelly L. Festijo, Krista Allyssa G. Espuelas, Angelica Faith C. Tuason, Jeremy D. Talastas and Jasper T. Fontanilla while the Collaborative Desktop Publishers (English) from Balanga Elementary School won 6th place to wit: Joseph Ronald S. Roque, Luis Carlo R. Sevilla, Micaela Yna P. Hernandez, Lorenz Balbaroza, Erbyn Jonas Matibag, Greigil G. Gines and Ivan Luis G. Austria.

Mrs. Leticia E. Eugenio, School Paper Adviser of Balanga Elementary School ,won 9th place in the Regional Search for Most Outstanding Campus Paper Adviser.

The following Campus Journalists won in the Secondary Level: 2nd Place in Radio Scriptwriting & Broadcasting (Filipino)-Best Infomercial Producers-Ron-Ron L. Mendoza and Patricia S. Mendoza (BNHS), 2nd Place in Newswriting (Filipino) – Sandy Loraine V. Calderon (BNHS), 7th place Satriani De Guzman (Bat. Montessori Sch. Inc.) in Newswriting (English), 8th place in Newswriting (Filipino) - Chanice Ann Kyla L. Lerma (Bataan Montessori Sch. Inc.) and the 10th place in Science and Health Writing (English) and in Feature Writing (Filipino) are Joana Marie O. Jaraba (APCAS) and Aika P. Espiritu (Bat. Montessori Sch. Inc.), respectively.

The Collaborative Desktop Publishers (English) and Radio Scriptwriters and Broadcasters (Filipino) from Bataan National High School garnered third Place awards. The following are the Collaborative Desktop Publishers: Kaye Pauline D. Dela Rosa, Rella Leonise P. Feliciano, Val Bryan B. Rotoni, Sajid T. Crisostomo, Joseph Emmanuel M. Manalo, Christian Carl R. Velasco and John Spencer S. Sumaguid and the following are the Radio Scriptwriters and Broadcasters: Jerome T. Angeles, Kyra Jean T. Cruz, Teresita B. Suing, Patricia S. Mendoza, Ron-ron L. Mendoza, Charizze A. Villaruel and Kyle Nico C. Cuevas.

Furthermore, the T. Del Rosarians comprising of Carll-John J. Nuestro, Josephine Mae Canuto, Ethelyn Jasmine M. Tuazon, Catherine De Jesus, Debra S. De Silva and Arianne Krystel M. Gonzales got 5th place in Best Editorial Page (English).

Moreover, the 9th place in Over-all Championship in Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting (English) are the following students from Bataan National High School: Merk Jhunel C. Quilit, Raina Muriel S. Guinto,Trisha B. Santiago, Ira Patricia A. Santiago, Franceel E. Fernandez, Phoebe Bianca S. Sevilla and John Mark V. Manlapid.

Lastly, Ezra P. Tanciongco a student from Bataan National High School, was awarded 10th place in the Regional Search for Outstanding Campus Journalist (Secondary Level).

Balanga City delegation was headed by the two Education Program Supervisors in-charged of Campus Journalism, Dr. Corazon T. Lopez and Dr. Merlinda T. Tablan. It was composed of 152 Campus Journalists and 44 School Paper Advisers from the elementary and secondary levels. (Corazon T. Lopez)
