With the knowledge of Revised Rules of Procedure of the Department of Education in Administrative Cases also known as DepEd Order No. 49, s. 2006. As a teacher under Department of Education, it is highly important to learn your rights as a teacher and its scope in order to dismiss the probability of risking a teacher’s license and profession.

Without much prior knowledge about this said DepEd order, one could just simply lose their license, and profession—their very own bread and butter due to breaking one of the offenses as listed. Some cases might seem absurd but with substantial evidences, without the teacher’s knowledge, these might cause their job. As simple as it may seem, even with such a modest mistake such as not declaring all your loans in your Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) and someone got a copy of yours who has an ulterior motive towards you—that’s it, you’re absolutely doomed. As well, teachers should know their rights in order to protect themselves from others who could possibly violate them.

Educating oneself with this DepEd Order will bring new light in practicing your profession as a teacher. As well, one will be more careful with their actions, words, values, work ethics and thoughts. Being a teacher is a noble profession, indeed. But having a noble profession as well comes with a great responsibility not only with the learners but to this nation as well.
